- 12 years sailing experience in various ranks from 5th Engineer to Chief Engineer on General Cargo ships, Bulk carriers, Crude oil and Product tankers.
- 26 years’ experience ashore in ship management. Worked as Technical Superintendent for 10 years; Fleet Manager for 10 years and presently Fleet Director for 6 years.
- Experienced in handling Bulk carriers, container vessels, general cargo vessels, Ro-ro, Product tankers, Crude oil carriers, Chemical tankers, Gas tankers (Ethylene and LPG) and Storage tankers.
- Experienced in dry docking of more than 50 vessels in Europe, south east Asia, Japan and China with extensive steel renewal – in one case about 3,000 mt of steel.

Captain Ramaswamy is a Master Mariner with rich experience in various facets of the Maritime Industry.He is a well-known face in the industry, with a vast network spanning industry organisations, shipowners, ship managers, ship yards and other service providers.
Gautam is a millennial and is a self-confessed “worshiper of technology” and a “digital thinker”. Being vocal with his views on how technology must urgently intervene in the evolution of the maritime industry, by making drastic changes to its very foundations, makes him no stranger to controversy.
He is also an Associate Fellow of the Royal Institute of Navigation and The Nautical Institute. He is a Committee Member of the Nautical Institute's Hong Kong Branch.
